Disc Golf
I first heard of disc golf when I was in college in Pittsburgh, PA.
Then maybe 3 or 4 years ago, when I was back visiting, I picked up a
souvenir disc from the Church Brew Works restaurant there. I'd been
interested for a while, but never actually made the effort to go out
and play.

Last year, a former coworker became a current coworker, and in between he'd gotten into disc golf. He tried to get me out a couple of times, but it just never happened.

Finally, something clicked this spring, and I decided to go looking
for courses again, and came across Devens Disc Golf Course. After
reading through their blog, I committed myself to getting my act together and getting out there to play. I mentioned it to my friend at work, he recruited another coworker, and the three of us went out to play 18-holes over lunch on friday.

We had a really great time. Jon and Andy seemed to think it was a bit too wooded for their tastes, but they still had a good time. Not knowing any different, I had a blast. I really can't wait to get back out there and play it again. (And hopefully get better!) I'll try to take some pictures next time.

Thanks for the pointer. It's been years since I've played, and I was just thinking the other day that I should invest in a real set of discs. Let me know if you're looking for an opponent!

Cool, I'm not sure I'm much of an opponent yet (I shot 40 over par!) but I'll give you a heads up the next time I'm headed out. I may try to play on the 4th, not sure yet though.
