random update
Ok, here's the random update as I haven't posted anything in a while.

My dad is in surgery today, to get a feeding tube put in. Although it's supposedly a straightforward, simple operation, sparing a good thought or two for him would be appreciated. The good news is that he doesn't actually need to use the feeding tube just yet. The bad news is that he almost certainly will in the not too distant future.

I had to send my new keyboard back for repair/replacement. The good news is that Fingerworks support has so far been very good. The bad news is I have to use a regular keyboard again for at least a couple of days. On the upside, using the Fingerworks keyboard for so long has really made me aware of where my hands are, and my typing speed on a regular keyboard has definitely improved a lot. On the downside, having to push down the keys is a lot more work than I previously realized, and my hands tire out a lot faster.

I also had to send my iTrip back. Griffin's support has been pretty amazing though, they've sent me a replacement even before they received my return. (We should both get them on friday.) I'll probably be ordering another one soon (for my iPod, as opposed to K's), although the new Belkin fm transmitter may be good too... we'll see.

Sadly, other than that there isn't much new in my life.

What's the range on the iTrip?

I haven't tested it thoroughly (I'll do more research when I get my replacement on friday) but:
- it works fine in my car, and my wife's car (2001 Jetta, 2000 Passat). In my car it works from pretty much anywhere in the car.
- in the house it's worked from at least ~8-10' (couch to stereo)

Hope that helps.
